Robert C. Bechtell, Jr.

Mr. Bechtell is a 2008 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Prior to joining Levicoff, Silko & Deemer, P.C. in 2011, Mr. Bechtell worked for three years as an associate in a local insurance defense firm’s professional liability practice group primarily defending accountants, insurance brokers/agents, architects, engineers, construction contractors and other professionals in professional and general negligence, construction defect and breach of contract actions.

Mr. Bechtell is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. Mr. Bechtell practices in a number of different areas including, but not limited to, personal injury litigation, products liability, insurance defense, insurance coverage, professional liability, contract disputes and employment and discrimination litigation.

Julie A. Brennan

Ms. Brennan joined Levicoff, Silko & Deemer, P.C. in June of 2010. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Brennan was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Kelley T.D. Streib, Butler County Court of Common Pleas.

Ms. Brennan is a 2009 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, Ms. Brennan was president of the Women’s Law Association and a member of Phi Alpha Delta. At Duquesne Law, Ms. Brennan was selected to participate in the trial advocacy program under Professors Michael Streib and Bruce Antkowiak. During her law school career, Ms. Brennan was a law clerk at a small Butler County firm and a Pittsburgh law firm. Ms. Brennan earned a B.S. in Business Administration, magna cum laude, in 2006 from Duquesne University.

Ms. Brennan is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the West Virginia State Bar, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Western Pennsylvania, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Washington County Bar Association.

Lauren M. Despot

Ms. Despot is a 2007 graduate of West Virginia University, College of Law and a 2002 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, with minors in both Business and Management. While in law school, Ms. Despot was the 2006-2007 President of Women’s Law Caucus and mediated for several county magistrate courts in West Virginia.

Ms. Despot joined Levicoff, Silko & Deemer, P.C., in March of 2011. Ms. Despot began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Steve P. Leskinen in the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas, and then practiced law with a general litigation firm in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

Ms. Despot is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. She is a member if the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the West Virginia State Bar, Fayette County Bar Association, and an anticipated member of the Allegheny County Bar Association.

Marty Brown Howarth

Ms. Howarth is a 1990 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. While in law school she was a member of Law Review and was the founder and editor of a weekly legal newsletter for faculty and students.

For more than 20 years, Ms. Howarth has represented companies in litigation throughout the United States involving product liability actions, construction claims, toxic exposure and general contract and commercial litigation.

Ms. Howarth is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court of the Western District of Pennsylvania, the West Virginia Supreme Court, the United States District Court of both the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia and the Supreme Court of Colorado.

Edward Levicoff

Mr. Levicoff is a 2005 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, after attending Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois for his undergraduate education. While in law school, Mr. Levicoff served as the Managing Editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law School’s Journal of Law and Commerce, and he graduated cum laude from the School of Law with a Certificate in civil litigation. In addition to interning at a local law firm in the summer of 2001, Mr. Levicoff clerked at Levicoff, Silko & Deemer, P.C. throughout high school, college and law school, and officially joined the firm as an associate attorney in the summer of 2005. He has since been admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Levicoff practices in a number of different areas, including but not limited to personal injury litigation, products liability, insurance defense, insurance coverage, professional liability, contract disputes and employment and discrimination litigation.

Timothy Mazzocca

Mr. Mazzocca is a 2009 graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude, was a member of law review, and received the CALI Award for excellence in the field of constitutional law. He also was a three-year recipient of the Duquesne University School of Law Scholarship. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Mazzocca earned a master’s degree in political science from the Ohio State University in 2005 and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame in 2004, where he graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa.

Mr. Mazzocca joined Levicoff, Silko & Deemer in April 2011. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Dan Pellegrini on the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania for nearly two years where he gained experience in a wide variety of areas of civil and administrative practice. While in law school, he worked as a law clerk for a mid-size litigation firm, interned twice with the United States Attorney’s Office, and edited Corbin on Contracts: Desk Edition by Dr. John Murray.

Mr. Mazzocca is admitted to practice before Pennsylvania state and federal courts and is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, and Allegheny County Bar Associations.

Christopher T. Sasada

Mr. Sasada joined Levicoff, Silko & Deemer, P.C. in December of 2010.

Mr. Sasada is a 2010 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude; and a 2006 graduate of Lehigh University. While in law school, Mr. Sasada served as a senior staff editor for the Duquesne Business Law Journal. He also received the CALI award for excellence in the fields of Sales and Leased Goods and Admiralty Law. During law school, Mr. Sasada was a summer law clerk for the Honorable Judge Maureen Lally-Green, Ret. of the Pennsylvania Superior Court, a law clerk for a small Pittsburgh law firm, and summer intern at the Western Pennsylvania, United States Attorney’s Office.

Mr. Sasada is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Allegheny County Bar Association.

Jonathan Silko

Mr. Silko graduated from Baylor University in 2008 with a BA in History. He continued his education at Baylor and received his Juris Doctorate from Baylor Law School in 2011. Mr. Silko clerked for the Dallas County and McLennan County District Attorney’s Offices and during his time in law school Mr. Silko clerked at Levicoff, Silko & Deemer for three summers before joining the firm as an associate in May 2011.

Mr. Silko is admitted to practice in front of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. Mr. Silko practices in the areas of personal injury litigation, insurance defense and employment discrimination litigation.

Melissa Walls

Ms. Walls was an associate with Levicoff, Silko & Deemer, P.C. from October 2003 to February 2008. She returned to the Firm in March 2011, and focuses her practice on general commercial litigation, contract disputes, and insurance defense matters.

From 2008 to 2010, Ms. Walls worked for the Uniform Law Commission in Chicago, Illinois, where she was responsible for developing financial resources to support the organization’s work in drafting uniform and model laws for promulgation by the states. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Walls was the Director of Development for more than 10 years for one of the largest non-profit social service agency’s in Western Pennsylvania.

Ms. Walls graduated from Duquesne University School of Law in 2002, and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the Western District of Pennsylvania.
